Why a normal identification tag can be limiting
A name and telephone number are useful, but they may not explain how to approach the horse, what could frighten them, whether feeding is appropriate or which veterinary practice should be contacted. In a stressful situation, that missing context can matter.
EQ Tap is designed to keep approved emergency information connected to the horse while allowing the owner to update it without replacing the physical tag.
What someone sees after a tap or scan
The public profile is deliberately focused. It can show the horse's identity, the first handling warning, owner and veterinary call buttons, and selected practical guidance. The person opening it does not need an EQ Tap account or a separate app.
Private care routines, personal account details, billing information and professional working notes remain outside the public emergency view.
The owner remains in control
Owners choose which supported fields appear publicly. A tag can be disabled if it is lost, while other tags connected to the horse can continue to work. A horse photograph can also be kept private or deliberately shown on the public tag profile.
EQ Tap is a communication aid. It does not replace a horse passport, veterinary advice, proof of ownership or sensible emergency backups.
